A Reintroduction to Me

Hello.

Ha, can you believe it? I just said hello! Wierd, isn't it. Almost as wierd as the fact that I am a giraffe. I used to be a monkey you see, but now I'm a giraffe.

I also have a new found respect for baristers, they make the whole coffee making thing look so easy!! And it's not!  :)

Been reading the art of war, for some light reading you see. I found it really interesting but apparently that is a) wierd and b) unexpected by people I know.

What else have I read lately? Oh, um, that 'Prince of Thorns.' It has its merits. The voice of it is excellent but some are calling it the english answer to G.R.R. Martin's AMAZING books, which it isn't. Not even close.

That's all for now :)

p.s. Who isn't excited for the Hobbit movie?!?!?!?!?!?!?

Writer's Block: Leave a Message After the Beep

My answering machine message is, for the most part, unremarkable. It states my name, the fact that I,m not there, wherever 'there' happens to be, and a request to leave a message. However, it is entirely in French, which is my second language, bcause no matter how many times I tried to sound normal, whenever I recorded the message in English I sounded like a ten year old. :)

Murphy's Law

So I was at the library and I was looking for this one particular book. It wasn't on the shelf where it was suppossed to be so I began to look on the trollies which each had about 50 books on them. Not finding it on any of the trollies in the section the book was supposed to be in I began to look at the trollies in other sections. In all there were a total of 12 trollies and about 600 books. Sure enough, the book I was looking for was on the twelfth and last trolly about 6 books from the end. Murphy's law that it takes 594 books to find the one I'm looking for. Moral of that story: don't give up, you'll find it eventually. :)

Snippet: An Observation

The boy walked with his father down the street, side by side yet there was a gap between them that was no only physical.
Awkwardly, the father siad 'I bought some tomatoes - for dinner tonight.'
'I hate tomatoes.' the boy replied tonelessly although it wasn't the tomatoes he hated, it was the fact his mother was dead, and that he had heard his father crying in the kitchen the night before. What was he, a eight year old boy supposed to do when his own father couldn't deal with it. 'I hate tomatoes.' the boy repeated.

They walked side by side, slouching in that nonchalant manner of two teenagers who know they can scare grandmas with only a crooked smile. Each had a cigarette in their right hand, an extra finger between two fingers of flesh, causally hanging there, saying 'dare you...'

Not funny - hialrious

Writing 'he smiled like a weather bag' in stead of 'he smiled like a weather man' and finding it unbelievably hilarious when it isn't really that funny. Must be the sleep deprivation and my systems reaction to coffee - double shot. Reminder to self: stop drinking double shot coffee.

She crossed the road recklessly, staring death in the face, as she always had, daring it to take her with a brave face and a fearful heart.

I walked the entire way in the pouring rain only to realise I'd had an umbrella in my hand. I hadn't even noticed. Comic or tragic?
